Optimize your website for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

One of the main reasons why your clients can't find your business online is that your website is not optimized for SEO. Without SEO optimization, your website is invisible to people who are looking for a business like yours. 

Although the term SEO sounds complicated, it is easier than you think. 

When people are looking for a business like yours, what words or phrases would they enter into the Google search? What words or phrases would they enter into the search trying to find the answers to the problem they have right now? Or trying to fulfill a wish or a need they have right now?

Those are your business keywords. Now, go back to your website and check how many of those words or phrases can you find on your website? Specifically, in the meta title and meta descriptions of each page, the headings H1 and H2 of every page of your website. If you can't find any of the keywords on your website, the search robots will not list your website on the search results, because your website doesn't contain the exact words and phrases people are looking for.

  1. Think of your clients/customers and brainstorm a topic list by asking yourself this question:
    "What phrases would they enter into the Google search trying to find the answers to the problem they have right now? Or what phrases would they enter trying to fulfill a wish or a need they have right now?"
  2. Research keyword search volume and competition index to narrow down your topic list
  3. Create a weekly content calendar for the next 3 months
  4. Decide & commit to a specific day when your blog posts will be published

Build an email list

Turn your website visitors & social media followers into email subscribers. Stay top-of-mind when they are ready to make buying decisions and use email addresses for paid social media marketing.

How to implement this strategy:

  1. Think of where your potential client is right now, what problem are they trying to solve or what desire they are trying to fulfill & what would bring them a small win by downloading a free resource from your website.
  2. Brainstorm at least 10-15 ideas and choose 3 ideas you can turn into a free training, checklist, 
  3. Create 3 freebies people can download from your website in exchange for their name & email address
  4. Create at least 5 email series to support each freebie & help them take the next step: book a consultation, buy the product, book a service, etc. 
  5. Add them to your weekly newsletter and stay consistent with staying top-of-mind by sending valuable information

After you've optimized SEO, implemented at least one freebie, you are ready to start paid social media ads to generate leads. Starting paid ads without having those foundations in place will leave chasing your tail and spending more money to run ads.
